Zeke lazily stared out the window, watching the trees zoom by. Here or there he's spot a pokemon. It's not anything he's used to, living in Hoenn all his life. His parents had to move to the Auditore region because of their job, Zeke was forced along. He's crammed in the backseat with all the bags and boxes. They flew in from a plane and had to rent a van to move all the stuff to the new house.
"You ok, back there?" asked his dad, driving. Zeke didn't respond. He's still mad about the move, and never being able to find his old friends again. He lost everything once Team Magma broke up. The police confiscated his pokemon and couldn't find his friends afterward. He couldn't go into the tall grass without a pokemon for protection. He couldn't search the region.
"We're almost there, sweetie. Please, do try to cheer up," said his mom.
The town came into sight, Auditore town. It's weird how they'd name a town after the region it was on, but Zeke didn't think about it too much. He had heard of this town before, and had heard there was a professor in this town.
After much waiting, they had finally arrived. Zeke helped bring everything into the new house. Two stories. Afterward they had lunch. Zeke immediately went upstairs to his room and laid on the bed, staring at the ceiling. His parents entered, with a smile on their face.
"Son, we know you're upset ..." Zeke's dad said. No answer, not even acknowledgment. "But ummm ... there's a professor in this town. He's giving out some pokemon."
There was a long pause.
"Why should i care?" Zeke finally responded.
"Well, you know, people your age cant ride on a plane alone ... unless you're a champion." Zeke finally faced his parents. "So we thought, maybe, you could start your adventure today ... the sooner the better, and then once you're champion, you could go back to Hoenn to find your friends ..."
A smile came across Zeke's face. "You'd ... really let me do that?"
"Of course," said his mom. "You've been old enough to start for 7 years, now. And this is the perfect opportunity."
Zeke sat up and got out of his bed. He hugged his parents and then ran downstairs. After a goodbye, he headed off toward the professor's lab. It was a short walk. Zeke walked in, not knowing what to expect ....
