Jarl's beginning

It was cool outside when Jarl walked into Auditoré Town. He knew the reason he came to this town: his starter. He couldn't stop thinking about his life in the mountains and how, with his starter, he can finally begin a more in-depth analysis of the pokemon he meets there. "I'm going to get my starter! It's the beginning of my researching career. I hope I'm not too late."
As he approached the lab, his legs started shaking. "I need to get in there before I get too nervous." He takes a deep breath, steadies his legs, and walks in the lab.

(It's alright, but your tenses need a bit of work, you switched constantly between past and present tense. If you prove yourself good enough, well you know. Just remember to stay always in past tense)

A young man stood, turned around, looking over three Pokeballs, when he whipped around to see the young man. "Ah, you must be here for a starter."

"Yes. You must be Professor Adams, correct? My name is Jarl." Jarl smiled at the professor, as he tried to ignore his shaking legs.

"Take one. I'll go get your supplies." Professor Adams clicked open each Pokéball, revealing each of the three Starters inside. He stepped slowly into the back room and stepped inside his safe, and took out a hard, silver, metallic egg. He snatched up a bag and an incubator, and then placed the egg carefully inside the incubator. He returned into the room and handed the boy the bag. "This is your egg. It will hatch in due time, please be careful with it, until then and after."

"Thank you Professor. I will take great care of the egg. I'd like the Fire type please. What is its name?" Jarl noticed his legs stopped shaking. When Jarl accepted the egg, he suddenly felt warmer. The beginning of his journey was about to begin!

"This is Flarda. He's only a child." Adams returned each of the starters to their Pokéballs and handed over Flarda's. He handed over a ticket, "This is for the ship. It will leave the dock around noon today. You can wait on the boat if you decide, but you can wait and catch some Pokémon before you leave."

"Thank you." Jarl left the lab and let Flarda out. "Hey pal. How do you like Flarez as a nick name?" Flarez looked up at Jarl with an almost confused look. "I'm your new partner Flarez." Flarez confuzed expression changed to understanding. "Alright Flarez! Let's go into the forest to find some wild pokemon!"

Flarda dashed forward into the Forest, but tripped over a rock and rolled into a circle of Minun, Plusle, and Nuetra. However, while the other rabbits looked in disgust, one in particular walked forward and started helping Flarez up. A Nuetra, who looked exactly the same level as Flarda looked affectionate toward him.

"Thank you Nuetra. Flarez, are you ok?" Flarez let out an annoyed growl. "Alright Flarez, but you be careful next time. Don't get to excited." The Nuetra looked concerned. "Hey. Do you want to join us? You can make sure Flarez is ok if you want. It's up to you." Jarl held out his hand to the Nuetra.

Nuetra took your hand and smiled up at you. But Nuetra was a toughie. Strong, she wouldn't go down without a fight, to prove she was strong, to prove she was worth it. Nuetra jumped to a battling stance.

"Alright! Flarez run at it and use Scratch!"

Flarez dashed forward, claws stretched out, but the Nuetra jumped, pushed off his outstretched arms and flipped over him, then tackled him forward into the ground. You were going to need to be trickier.

"Flarez! That looked like that hurt..." Jarl thought about a new strategy... "Flarez go for another scratch but this time act like your hurt!" "Hopefully it will try to help it up again.... This is a gamble, but might just work!

Flarez dashed forward, but faltered and fell. He didn't seem to be faking, but maybe he was just that good an actor. The Nuetra dashed forward, and Flarez managed to flip positions, getting on top of Nuetra, though he still seemed hurt. Nuetra let her guard down, letting go, letting Flarez beat her.

"Nice job Flarez! Time to catch you!" Jarl threw a pokeball at the Neutra.

The Pokéball closed around Nuetra, and began to roll until it clicked shut.

Flarez smiled, but suddenly toppled. His eyes closed and he coughed, blood coming from his mouth. He was in great need of health.

Jarl rushed to the Lab to heal Flarez and Neutra. "Professor Adams! We need help. My pokemon were hurt badly. Can you help us?"

"Oh dear. This appears to be bad. Your Flarez is in bad shape. I need to keep him here with me, you can go out and catch some Pokémon with your Nuetra if you choose." Adams said, yanking the Pokéball from your hand and bringing it out of the room.

"Thank you Professor. Come on Neutra! Let's go abck to the forest. Don't worry, I'm sure Flarez will forgive you." Neutra gave Jarl a smile as they walked out of the lab. Before they exited, Jarl told the Professor that he'd be back in about five minutes.
Jarl and Neutra entered the forest again. Neutra saw something and started to run at full speed in that direction! Jarl could barely keep up!

Nuetra rushed forward, and pushed directly into a small blue cocoon, knocking it forward.

Jarl finally caught up with Neutra and noticed the cocoon. "What do is it Neutra? Do you think it's a pokemon? Stand back Neutra. I don't want you to get hurt."

Nuetra backed up slightly, and the cocoon suddenly began rolling. It shifted to an upright position and stood there. Then it began to roll, forming a deadly blade-like shape, and it rolled straight for you!

"Neutra! Use Thunder Wave to stun it. Then use Quick Attack!" "Maybe this fight will be a easier with that thing paralyzed"

Nuetra's cheeks flashed and she let out a powerful surge of electricity that stopped the Blovatra dead in it's tracks, then Nuetra rushed forward and smashed into it with a quick swift punch.

"Hit it again with another Quick Attack Neutra! As hard as you can!"
